Dr Shannon Chan is currently an assistant professor and the Division Chief of Upper Gastrointestinal & Metabolic Surgery of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Chan is an UGI surgeon whose research interest lies in gastric cancers and peritoneal malignancies. She also has special interests in advanced therapeutic endoscopy especially in interventional endoscopic ultrasound. She is a committee member of the Asian EUS Group and has obtained numerous awards including winner of the Asian EUS Cup and the Young investigator Award in EUS Summit 2022. She also has 110 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 4 book chapters and is the reviewer for more than 10 journals. She has also been awarded the Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award in 2022, The Hong Kong Humanity Award in 2021 and Elle International “100 Women Change Makers” in 2022.
